I got this Dell Inspiron 3847 computer about a month ago, but it took until now to do anything with it. I'm still not sure exactly what I'll do with this machine in the future, but for now, here's a brief overview.
The case is almost the same as the Inspiron 537, but they're totally different internally.
It's hard to see in this image, but the PCI slot holder thing is smashed inwards, so you're not getting any expansion cards in this machine without bending it back out. Not sure how it got bent up like that.
Just like the 537, there's not much interesting inside. I'll probably steal the 1TB HDD and replace it with a smaller capacity drive, because the 1TB drive in my main machine is almost full. I can never have too much extra storage space.
It originally came with Windows 8.1, but it got downgraded to 7. One thing I might do with it is try to install Windows 2000, so if that works out, I'll have a page on that.
